रह्ये अब ऐसी जगह चल कर जहां कोई न हो
हम-सुख़न कोई न हो और हम-ज़बां कोई न हो
बे-दर-ओ-दीवार सा इक घर बनाया चाहिये
कोई हम-सायह न हो और पास्बां कोई न हो
पड़्ये गर बीमार तो कोई न हो बीमार-दार
और अगर मर जाइये तो नौहह-ख़्वां कोई न हो

He says, in such an alien [ग़ैर] dwelling, suitable for being wished on one's enemies, if you fall sick, then no one from among those enemies who have caused you grief will become a nurse. And if, God forbid, you die, then from among those cruel friends who have caused you difficulties, no one will be a dirge-singer in a mourning assembly.
